Three winning solutions.
One platform.

At the University of Cambridge, our founding team came together through three separate winning projects at the Hack the Law hackathon, each judged by the firm that set the challenge. Each solved a different piece of the same problem. We merged the strongest elements into one lawyer-in-the-loop platform under Lexis Labs Pty Ltd.

02The technology

An engine built
to explain itself.

Structured regulatory rules

Legal requirements encoded as deterministic, versioned rule packs: pure functions that run, and are tested, with the LLM switched off. Adding a new legal domain is legal research, not engineering: a rule pack is a data file.

Evidence & source traceability

Every fact on a file is traced to a client utterance or a source document. Claims and citations are verified against structured rules and registers. Nothing is unexplained.

Version-aware checks

When regulation changes, the rule pack changes, and every past check stays auditable against the version it ran on.

Verdict discipline

The software never concludes. Conclusion words are banned from client-facing output, and unit-tested to stay banned. Everything requiring judgment routes to a professional, who reviews, edits and signs.

Document production

The engine collects supporting documentation, structures the enquiry, and drafts the onboarding file and report. The lawyer edits, decides and signs.

Privacy by architecture

Deploys on-premise or in the firm's controlled infrastructure; client data never leaves the firm. We share the method, not the data.
